Full vegetable-tanned, pit-tanned, shrunk horsehide
Uses leather made from raw horsehides that have been vegetable-tanned in pit vats in Japan.
Leveraging the characteristics of heavily scarred horsehide, we use only the most scarred hides and subject them to a full vegetable tanning process in pit tanks over an extended period of approximately three months.
It is further tumbled with the application of heat, shrinking it to half its original size (from 2m to 1m) and creating a striking appearance characterized by surface scratches and a distinctive pebbled texture.
While the full-tannin finish gives the leather a rugged, substantial appearance, it is infused with a generous amount of oil to ensure elasticity and suppleness, prioritizing comfort when worn.
The ROVER is a tailored vest luxuriously crafted from leather, based on the silhouette of a classic gilet.
While incorporating authentic gilet details—such as a deep V-neck and a tastefully tailored silhouette—the addition of leather's distinctive, substantial feel creates a garment with a commanding presence.
