Since I have been given this opportunity, I would like to talk about the charm of CRANK with my hobbies under the title of "Patlabor and Stajans".
You are suddenly going full throttle (laugh).
I didn't know that you are such a big fan of anime.
When I heard "Patlabor," I had the impression that it was a very reluctant choice, but I am curious to know what attracted you to it.
I am curious to know what attracted you to it, and how it will lead to the "stadium jacket". This story is going to be interesting.
In the age of subscriptions, it has become easier to watch old movies, and I have been watching a lot of movies that I used to watch or only knew the titles at the rental store but couldn't watch them (Bubblegum Crisis is a great one!). ), I watched Patlabor again and realized the wonderful dialogue between conversations and the way everyday life is depicted, which I didn't understand when I was a little girl. (My personal favorite character is Shige-san!).
When I was a little girl, only Gundam was cool! I was so prejudiced about whether it was a Gundam or not, so I beheaded my young mind.

It's great that it's easier to come into contact with old works through subscriptions.
I think it is interesting to see the trend of people watching again now what they were interested in but couldn't watch back then.
In the TV version of Patlabor, there are many variations of the characters' personal clothes, which are very fresh, tasteful, and fun to the eye even if you watch it now. Even at the end of the 90s, which depicted the future from the time of the anime, the fashion has a tasteful 80s atmosphere.
The old OVA, the scene in volume 1 where Noaki makes his dashing first appearance in a Zero Han, and the famous "standing noodle" scene in volume 5. The stadium jackets in those scenes look especially bright to me, and I have been thinking that I would like to wear something like this for a long time.

I don't care if it's a movie or drama,
It is interesting that people are interested in anime fashion, even if they are not interested in movies or TV dramas.
As a side note, in the scene in volume 6 where Yuma talks to Captain Goto on the pay phone, Yuma says, "You eat like a pro at standing up and eating! which is a line of Yuuma's that often appears in Oshii's works, a tachiguishi. In the new OVA, the chilled tachiguishi Masa also appears, but it is still the same as in Urusei Yatsura's "Hissatsu! Tachiguishi Wars! is impressive. (It is only possible in Mr. Oshii's works that he goes to standing-only noodle restaurants four times a week on average.)
That's a pretty deep story.
Seeing Yuma like that makes me want to put on a stadium jacket and say, "Hey, Oichan, add croquettes," but if I put on a stadium jacket with the same atmosphere as it was, it would look just like it was back then! If you wear a stadium jacket with the same atmosphere as it was back then, it will look like a "Hey, I added croquettes", so I want to wear it in a more chic and mature way.
CRANK is based on a design that is a combination of a stadium jacket and a MA-1, so it is the ideal leather jacket that solves the problem of wanting to wear a stadium jacket but not wanting to bring out the 80s feeling too much...
I enjoy wearing it every day with a boxy, minimalist look, and I wear it with a loose-fitting hoodie inside, which contrasts with the days when I wear a tight, skinny rider's jacket.
Wearing a leather jacket that has the essence of what I like makes me feel good, and I can say, "Add croquettes, eggs, and inari-san" without mercy at a stand-up meal.
We do not want to follow the atmosphere of the stadium jacket as it is, but how to wear it with the balance of the present.
CRANK fits well in that context, and it's a very natural flow.
STRUM is a mixture of what the designer feels and incorporates into his creations, so you can feel the essence of various genres and cultures, and enjoy wearing them as "STRUM". You will feel like a man just by wearing STRUM.
I want to wear various types of STRUM depending on my mood of the day.
There are so many things that I want that I have to fight against my greed every day, but because it is something I wear every day and something I will wear for a long time, I will not compromise.
I can really feel that you chose STRUM with the sense that it overlaps with what you like.
Maybe that's why it's a piece of clothing that you want to wear in your daily life without any pressure.
I am very much looking forward to Patlabor EZY, which is scheduled to be released sequentially in May.
