14oz Deep Blue Heavy Selvedge Denim
This denim fabric is woven on vintage shuttle looms—a type of traditional power loom—and features selvage edges on both sides to prevent fraying. By carefully adjusting factors such as yarn tension and weaving speed, the fabric is crafted to possess a warm, textured character with a distinct, uneven surface rather than a flat finish.
To achieve a vintage-style fade, we use a custom-made, slightly thicker "fractional count" yarn—specifically a 5.7-count—for the warp, whereas standard 14oz denim typically employs a 6-count yarn. By pairing this with a 7-count weft yarn to create a difference in thickness, and utilizing a long-slub warp yarn of this unique count, the fabric produces a beautiful vertical fading effect.
Regarding the dyeing process, a deep, dark blue finish is achieved by repeatedly dyeing the fabric using a mixture of indigo dye and black sulfide dye.
The sewing thread used is a core-spun type that recreates the texture of vintage models. It features a high-strength 100% polyester filament core wrapped in 100% Supima cotton fibers, combining the durability of synthetic filament with the appealing character that cotton thread develops through wear.
This series features meticulous attention to detail—from the fabric and stitching methods to the thread itself—resulting in a vintage-like fade and unique aging characteristics as the garments are worn over time.
JEANS MODEL ID: 1977
"1977" is STRUM's signature regular-straight denim, featuring a deep rise and a distinctive gentle taper; it is crafted with meticulous attention to detail—from the stitching and thread to the vintage-style fading and the worn-in look achieved through 3D processing.

An overwhelming presence achieved by layering further treatments onto the "100-Year Finish."
Commonly known as the "100-Year Finish," this process involves repeatedly applying damage and repairs to recreate the look of a garment worn for a century.
A pigment over-dye is applied over the "100-year finish" denim, creating a rich, textured look that evokes the appearance of grime and color accumulated in layers over many years.
Furthermore, the addition of a realistic paint-splatter finish—with white paint scattered across the entire garment—evokes the rugged aesthetic of a pair of pants that has seen heavy wear and served as actual workwear.

Steerhide vegetable-tanned leather has been added to the belt loops as a decorative accent. The leather can remain attached during washing, and its appearance evolves over time alongside the denim.

The coin pocket is positioned diagonally.
The pocket opening is accented with a German silver part designed to resemble the Telecaster-style pickguard favored by Joe Strummer.
All belt loops feature an attachment loop for hanging keychains or chains.

Core-spun thread is used for the stitching, so the thread color ages and changes as you wear them.
Black is used for the main stitching, while orange accents—such as the bar tacks and side reinforcement stitching—create a sophisticated, mature look. (Main stitching & bar tacks: #8 thread; side reinforcement & accent bar tacks: #6 thread)
Accent bar-tack stitching is placed at three locations on the front and six on the back.
