From the "Full tannin pit-tanned shrink horsehide" series, which has been the face of STRUM since its first release in 2020-21 A/W, the standard double riders models "HI-FLYER" and "LIST " are now available!
This time, we will introduce them in three parts: leather features, model features, and coordination!
(1) Characteristics of leather : We dare to use only horsehide leather with many scratches in particular, and by shrinking it, the natural grainy texture is accentuated.
- We dare to use only horsehide with especially many scratches to make the best use of its characteristics.
- Pit-tanning : Tanned with tanning agents. Pit-tanning: A tanning process in which tannin is added to the leather over a long period of time using a huge bath-like pit.
- By soaking the leather in tannin for a long time, the natural texture of the leather is preserved and the leather becomes strong and durable.
- Shrink tanning Shrink: After pit-tanning, the leather is dyed and further heat-tanned, shrinking it to half its normal size (from about 2m to 1m), which accentuates its natural graininess.
The above process fuses thescratches of horsehidewith the grain of the shrink tocreate a rugged and masculine look. The initial texture is dry and bouncy, but the more it is worn, the more it becomes more shiny.

HI-FLYER
The HI-FLYER incorporates vintage-inspired details and is characterized by its irregular pocket layout. It is a model with gimmicky features such as a windproof collar.
Coordinates (LIST): This all-black coordinate is accented with a sleeveless hoodie, which is unique to this time of the year, and is worn with individualistic, roomy denim, and engineer boots for a masculine look.
