The "1977," "TIGHT JOE," and "SKINNY JOHN" models from STRUM's staple denim series are back in stock.
For the 2026-27 A/W season, TIGHT JOE and SKINNY JOHN will be succeeded by TIGHT JOE2 and SKINNY JOHN2, featuring revised silhouettes.
In conjunction with this, the existing models offered through the 2026 S/S season have been renamed TIGHT JOE1 and SKINNY JOHN1.
We also have stock of the previous model in select sizes, so you can choose between the new and old silhouettes.
In this post, we compare the old and new versions of the TIGHT JOE and SKINNY JOHN models using photos of them being worn, highlighting the differences in their silhouettes. We also introduce the classic 1977 model, which is back in stock!
The TIGHT JOE features a tight-straight silhouette that is slim-fitting yet does not hug the leg lines as closely as the SKINNY JOHN.
The TIGHT JOE1 features a sharp silhouette that follows the lines of the leg from the thigh down to the hem.
In contrast, the TIGHT JOE2 retains the signature slim silhouette of the TIGHT JOE while offering slightly more room from the thigh down to the knee and hem.
When compared side-by-side, the TIGHT JOE1 offers a tighter, sleeker look, whereas the TIGHT JOE2 features a silhouette that, while slim, allows for a bit more room.
178 cm / 60 kg
Size worn: 28 inches

Both models share the same basic tight-straight silhouette, so you can choose the one that suits your preference: TIGHT JOE1 for a fit that contours closely to the body, or TIGHT JOE2 for a slightly more relaxed feel.

SKINNY JOHN features the tightest skinny silhouette in the STRUM DENIM lineup.
The SKINNY JOHN1 features a slim, sharp silhouette that follows the lines of the leg from thigh to hem.
With the SKINNY JOHN2, the fit has been adjusted by adding a touch of roominess throughout, while preserving the signature slim silhouette of skinny jeans.
When compared side-by-side, the SKINNY JOHN1 creates a tight look that clearly defines the leg lines. In contrast, the SKINNY JOHN2 maintains a slim profile but offers a silhouette with a bit more room.
178 cm / 60 kg
Size worn: 30 inches

You can choose the style that suits your preference: SKINNY JOHN1 for a tighter fit, or SKINNY JOHN2 if you prefer a slightly more relaxed fit.

Unlike the Tight Joe and Skinny John, the 1977 features a regular straight silhouette with a comfortable, relaxed fit.
The fabric used is 14oz deep blue heavy selvedge denim, characterized by its deep indigo color.
With a straight line that falls naturally from the waist to the hem, it achieves a classic denim balance that differs from a slim silhouette.
This newly arrived one-wash model conforms to your body as you wear it, allowing you to enjoy unique aging characteristics—such as fading and crease lines—much like you would with raw denim.

Also, thanks to the selvedge construction, the red selvedge ID visible when the cuffs are rolled up is a key feature.
This model is recommended for those who want to enjoy a comfortable, relaxed fit—distinct from the two slim-fitting styles—along with the authentic aging process of the denim.
The regular-straight 1977, the tight-straight TIGHT JOE, and the skinny SKINNY JOHN.
Furthermore, for the TIGHT JOE and SKINNY JOHN models, you can choose between two silhouettes: "1," featuring the traditional tight fit, and "2," which offers a slightly more relaxed fit.
Even with the same denim, the silhouette significantly changes the impression and balance when worn.
Please try them on and compare them to find the pair that best suits your style.
