T.A.S's WAFFLE SHOULDER BAG was resized and redesigned for this collaboration. The canvas portion has been replaced with STRUM leather, leaving the original thickness intact and creating a bag with impact.
The popular full tannin pit-tanned shrink horsehide is coated with WAX, and then heat-treated to permeate the WAX into the leather.
A new color, WHITE, with an uneven texture created by the WAX finish, is now available in a new color.
The wax will fall off as the leather is used, so the areas where the bite appears will be black, and the wax in the scratches and grains will remain white, giving a contrasting appearance. This is a characteristic of the "Mn_3099" series.
There are differences in the amount of wax on each leather, and there are individual differences in the shade and unevenness of the texture.
Full tannin pit-tanned Shrunken horsehide
Tanning is done in Japan by soaking raw horsehide in a pit tank. The leather is then tanned in a pit tank for about 3 months. The leather is then turned on a taiko while being heated and shrunk to half its normal size (from 2m to 1m) to give it an impactful look with its scratches and graininess. Full tannin, it has a bony appearance, but by adding more oil, it has elasticity and suppleness, and is a leather that is also comfortable to wear.
The WAFFLE SHOULDER BAG, originally compact in size, has been scaled up to fit a 16 inch laptop computer.
A side pocket has been added to this collaborative item for added functionality.

The side pocket opening is accented with German silver parts designed in the motif ofJOE STRUMMER's favorite Telecaster type pick guard.
The zipper is made by Raccagni of Italy.
